Draft Legal --is it the "new triathlon ?"
Champion Lakes Report:
This is becoming an amazing concept by Exceed Tri Club.
Well run with plenty of the "old feel triathlon " to it ----mixed in with some hard format racing .
Competitors all loved it with some even saying harder then a 70.3( due to the red
line racing aspects of it ) . Kind weather -- safe course - parking ---it was all OK.
ITU rules- only road bikes & gear into a crate- no towels on ground etc
So usual Sprint format for first race then the twists --reverse race after very short
smaller distance --then short recovery and go again ........ THEN to finish it off......
the " dash for cash" over 1km for those still able to run quick .
Some Quotes from the day -
" I have done heaps of races and on the last one couldn't even find my bike "
" My arms were lead on that last swim - sure the lake had molasses in it"
" Never made so many rookie mistakes after the first 2 events--even ran with my
helmet on at one stage...LOL....but it was all so good "
"Actually enjoyed the draft legal bike and felt less pressured just riding without
all the distance issues "
Well done EX T.C --- showing the way nicely out there .......
